Natural in origin, Tencel was designed as an environmentally friendly cellulosic fiber to produce fabrics that maximise comfort and function. Tencel is the brand name for Lyocell, the fiber's generic name. Tencel is produced via a highly refined and sophisticated technical process. This fiber is twisted or spun into yarns that is used in knitting or weaving garments that have the comfort and luxury of a natural fiber with the practicality of a man-made fiber.
A number of the Tencel colours match our Rayon Chenille and Bamboo yarn colours enabling the weaver to create many effects by mixing the two yarns in the warp or weft.

Note: The US standard for naming yarn puts the number of plies on the bottom which is the opposite of the approach used outside the US. For example in Canada "2/8 Tencel" consists of 2 plies of #8 thickness Tencel which would be described as 8/2 Tencel in the US. Both represent the exact same weight of yarn.
