Sock and Heel/Toe Yarn
in Matching Solid Colours
We are pleased to be able to offer the Fortissima Socka 100 range of Sock Yarn in 19 colours from Schoeller Stahl. Along with the sock yarn, we also stock the Fortissima Socka Beilaufgarn Heel and Toe yarn in matching colours on 5 gram cards. The Beilaufgarn Heel/Toe yarn is designed to be combined with the Sock Yarn when knitting the heels and toes of the sock to add strength to these common sock wear points. The effect is a stronger and longer lasting pair of socks!.
Both the Sock and Heel/Toe yarns are the same blend of 75% Virgin Wool and 25% Polyamide (nylon) for both durability and softness. The sock yarn is a fingering weight yarn with a gauge of 30 stitches per inch when knit on 2.5 to 3mm (U.S. size 1 or 2) needles. The heel/toe yarn is about half as thick as the Sock yarn so when combined at the heels and toes add about 50% to the thickness. The yarns are made from Superwash Wool yarn so yarn care is simply machine wash, cool and dry flat.
We have 19 colours of Fortissima Socka yarn available. The Sock Yarn comes in 100 gram (3.5 ounce) balls with enough yarn for an adult pair of socks or two pairs of socks for a child. The Heel/Toe yarn comes in 5 gram cards (40 metres/card) which is more than enough to do the heels and toes of an adult pair of socks when combined with the Sock yarn.
