Camilla Valley Farm Weavers' Supply provides a number of cost effective options for Rug Weavers looking for a strong and durable yarn for use as Rug Warp. These included our Cotton Warp for Rag Rugs, Linen Warp for Wool Rugs and durable Seine Twine for Rugs and Tapestries.
Our unmercerized 4/8 cotton yarn (8/4 in the United States) is an excellent and economical choice for weavers looking for a durable Rug Warp. It comes in the 44 beautiful colours shown below and is the perfect choice for rag rugs and a great substitute for those who were using Maysville Carpet Warp.
Note that unlike other cotton rug warp, our yarn is colourfast! The yarn is 1,680 yards (1,520m) per pound and is sold in 1/2 pound tubes and we recommend a sett of 10-12 epi. Pricing is shown below.

While we carry a wide range of Irish and Belgian Linens, the 2/12 or 4/12 Linen (12/2 and 12/4 in the United States) is an excellent choice to use as Rug Warp for Wool Rugs, especially when used with our Canadian Collection Wool Yarn for the weft. The 2/12 is 1,800 yds (1,646m) per pound and the 4/12 is 900 yards (823m) per pound. Both are sold in 1/2 pound tubes. Pricing is shown below Camilla Valley Farm Weavers' Supply provides a selection of Seine Twine for Weavers. Used for Tapestry and/or Rug Warp, this strong twine comes in two weights and Natural colour only. The #6 weight is a Cotton/Polyester (60%/40%) blend while the #9 weight is 100% cotton. This yarn is a available in natural only and is perfect for applications that will receive a high degree of traffic like stair runners and denim rugs. Pricing is shown below Note: The Canadian/European standard for naming yarn put the number of plies on the top which is the opposite of the approach used in the US. For example in Canada "4/8 Cotton" consists of 4 plies of #8 Cotton which would be described as 8/4 Cotton in the US. Both represent the exact same weight of yarn.
