• The pattern in the book calls for an unspun Icelandic wool called "Plotulopi", not available outside Iceland, which is sold by weight as a one-ply, flat round roll, called a "plate". It is knit using a loose tension with one, two or three plys at a time, depending on how bulky a yarn the knitter wants. This design calls for 2-ply and 3-ply "Plotulopi" and the book recommends substituting 2 or 3 strands of Lopi Lite so our yarn kits include the equivalent weight of this yarn. The knitter can do a test swatch and compare it to the gauge information in the book.

• The pattern is not included in the kit but is in the Lopi Pattern Book #27 (pictured at right) which can be ordered separately. This book includes full instructions for this as well as 24 other designs. To order simply specify it as a separate line item on your order form.
